Using Chickens in the Garden

This is a short video I took last fall explaining a little bit about how we use chickens in our garden. Since incorporating chickens into the garden its productivity has greatly increased, since many of the manual tasks of cleaning up weeds and applying soil amendments have been almost entirely replaced by utilizing the God-given design of chickens. I did a more detailed post about this topic here.

This week I am going to be putting up fence around one of our pastures with the help of some ‘apprentices’, as well as doing some weeding and planting. May the Lord bless you as the growing season cranks up.

“Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening don’t let your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” Ecclesiastes 11:6

  1. It was fun to see your chickens at work! That’s a great idea for a hen house. Also, I didn’t know that geese could ward off hawks! Isn’t it amazing how the Lord has designed each type of farm animal for specific jobs?

It was nice to hear your voice, Noah ~smile~. I hope to see more of your videos in the future.

  2. My good friend uses them in his greenhouse. I’d love to use them in mine, however, we’re not quite set up for chickens (too much already on the plate), and a local bald eagle couple that are looking for tasty snacks.

  3. Love the video! Praise the Lord for chickens! : )

  4. I found out about your blog from Jack Dody. It looks like the Lord is bringing people from all over to the same conclusions and passions. We just started rotating our chickens in our garden and look forward to the results. God’s way of doing things certainly make for happy animals, productive farms, and thankful farmers.

  5. Thanks for the video! We really need to get back to the way God designed things to be!
Also wondering if there’s a way to subscribe to your site? Didn’t see a subscription area.
